‘Gilmore Girls’ 25th Anniversary Documentary “Searching for Stars Hollow” in the Works

A quarter-century after its debut, Gilmore Girls is getting the documentary treatment. Titled Searching for Stars Hollow, the film is set to premiere this fall in celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary and will bring together cast members, creators, and crew to reflect on the beloved series’ legacy.
A Look Back at a Cultural Phenomenon
Produced by Ink On Paper Studios, the documentary will explore Gilmore Girls’ role in shaping American television and pop culture. According to the studio, it will feature never-before-seen interviews and untold behind-the-scenes stories from actors, writers, directors, and crew members who helped bring Stars Hollow to life.Stars Returning to Share Their Memories
Among the cast confirmed to appear are Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), and Chad Michael Murray (Tristin Dugray). Additional interviews will include Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Sally Struthers (Babette Dell), Liz Torres (Miss Patty), Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim), Rose Abdoo (Gypsy), Kathleen Wilhoite (Liz Danes), Matt Jones (Morgan), and Grant-Lee Phillips (the town troubadour).The documentary will also feature insights from director Jamie Babbit, writer-producer Stan Zimmerman, casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey, and Kevin T. Porter, co-host of the fan-favorite Gilmore Guys podcast.
A Series That Endures
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007, chronicling the lives of single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) in the fictional Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. The ensemble also included Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Sean Gunn, and the late Edward Herrmann.Directors Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna are helming the project, with Adam F. Goldberg serving as executive producer and Jim Demonakos producing.
