Netflix’s Hit Comedy Returns with a Star-Studded Music Lineup
Netflix has revealed the official soundtrack for Season 2 of Nobody Wants This, and it’s packed with some of today’s biggest names in music. Selena Gomez, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, and Teddy Swims headline the 19-track album, which spans genres from pop to country, blending heartfelt storytelling with diverse sonic textures. The new soundtrack — released through The Core Records and Interscope Records — follows the breakout success of the first season’s acclaimed music moments, which featured hits from Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, and Rihanna.
A Blend of Pop, Country, and Indie Sounds
The Season 2 soundtrack features a wide range of artists including Finneas, Royal Otis, Alessia Cara, Portugal. The Man, and Giveon. Tracks such as Giveon’s “Dancing in the Smoke,” Dermot Kennedy’s “Melodies,” and Cassandra Coleman’s “Bite My Tongue” were pre-released before the official announcement, offering fans a taste of what’s to come.Netflix also shared a teaser featuring Teddy Swims’ soulful track “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming,” while Finneas’ “Palomino” and Towa Bird’s “Your Girl” are set to drop later this week.
The Vision Behind the Soundtrack
The soundtrack was assembled by Simon Tikhman, co-founder and CEO of The Core Entertainment, alongside Interscope Records. Tikhman, who is also the husband of the show’s creator Erin Foster, explained the goal behind the project: “The fact that we were able to put together a one-of-a-kind soundtrack with incredible artists speaks to the success of the first season. I wanted the music to reflect the same honesty, sharpness, and heart that Erin brings to the story, while also creating a soundtrack that can stand on its own.”Music supervision for Season 2 was led by Aperture Music’s Manish Ravel, Tom Wolfe, and Jonathan Leahy, ensuring each track aligns seamlessly with the show’s emotional tone and witty storytelling.
Anticipation Builds Ahead of Season 2 Premiere
Season 2 of Nobody Wants This premieres on Netflix on October 23, following a trailer release last month that reignited excitement for the Emmy-nominated comedy. The first season earned three nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and quickly became one of Netflix’s most buzzed-about hits.Sam Riback, President of A&R at Interscope Records, praised the collaboration: “Based on the success and acclaim of the first season, this was a really fun soundtrack to put together. So many artists were drawn to the uniquely captivating love story and the role of music in this series.”
