Drawing Prada: The Holiday 2026 Campaign Steps Into a Hand-Drawn Winter Fairy Tale
Written by Sarah J. Mercer
This season, Prada invites us into a world where fashion and fantasy share the same frame. Titled Drawing Prada, the Maison's Holiday 2026 campaign brings together real people and hand-drawn animation, creating snowy wonderlands that recall both golden-age Hollywood cinema and the storybooks of childhood.
The Hand of a Master Animator
At the heart of the project is John Pomeroy, an animator whose career spans decades and whose work helped shape some of the most beloved animated productions from studios such as Disney. With his team of artists, Pomeroy drew the campaign's winter landscapes and its playful animal characters by hand, a deliberately old-fashioned craft at a time when so much imagery is made on a screen.
Where the Real and the Drawn Meet
The magic lies in the blending. Live-action photography by Glen Luchford is merged with illustrated scenery, with light and perspective carefully matched so that the cast and the drawings seem to share one space. Told through still images and short films, the campaign follows its stars as they wander through frosted scenes and imaginative settings, somewhere between a dream and a classic holiday film.
A Cast of the Moment
The creative direction comes from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who have gathered a cast that reflects the energy of a new generation. Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke and Kelvin Harrison Jr. appear alongside Luther Ford and Chen Haoyu, each placed within Pomeroy's illustrated world with an ease that makes the fantasy feel natural.
The Spirit of the Season
More than a holiday advertisement, Drawing Prada is a reminder of the wonder that drawn images can still hold. By pairing the precision of high fashion with the warmth of traditional animation, Prada offers a season that feels both nostalgic and new, an invitation to look at the holidays once more through the eyes of a child.
